ILP - Interview with teacher I reached out to one of my old teachers from St. Thomas Aquinas by email and I was able to ask and receive their answers on technology in the classroom. My high school is very advanced when it comes to technology. We used school-provided laptops, each classroom had smart boards, etc. It was interesting to see how one of my old teachers feels bout technology. What are different types of technology you have used in the classroom? Please list them! Platforms   such as laptops , mobile devices Software packages (such as Microsoft Office, Powerpoint), programs, apps (Kahoot, Blackboard) Display sevices  such as smart boards and video displays Audio  tools such as microphones, speakers. I was lucky to be one of the first teachers to use the smart board in my classroom. Students were very engaged and interested to learn about everything the smart board could offer. We learned together just what an amazing teaching tool it is....

As a teacher I could definitely use data collection and surveys in a classroom setting. Whether it is giving my students a quiz or a test, wanting to get feedback on something, or trying to gather information about something, surveys are always helpful. It is very useful that the surveys can be anonymous too. If I were an English teacher I could use surveys to get feedback on a book, give a quiz about questions in a book, or anything else I was teaching. Creating a survey is very easy and they are easy to share with others. I think they would be very useful educationally. Topics I found most interesting when reading my classmates blogs was honestly the fact that everyone has different opinions on how or why they would use a certain technology. It was really interesting to compare my own answers of the prompt to my classmates answers. For example,  when going to the tech sandbox I really enjoyed the virtual reality. A flipped classroom, as its name suggests, is a class where the lecture and homework have been reversed. In other words, the practice problems normally completed at home are worked on in the classroom, and the direct instruction normally given during class time is given as homework through video lectures, reading assignments, or some other direct instruction delivery method.  It is forcing teachers to reflect on their practice and rethink how they reach their kids. It is inspiring teachers to change the way they've always done things, and it is motivating them to bring technology into their classrooms through the use of video and virtual classrooms like Edmodo and similar tools. OER can offer drastic savings in the cost of education.
